Only a few authors spots remain in the Colorado Authors’ League Co-Op Book Booth, where more than 80 titles will be on sale at the annual Denver Junior League Holiday Mart shopping extravaganza Nov. 14-16 at the Marriott Tech Center. Last year CAL sold more than 300 books for its authors, who have the opportunity to talk about their work and sign copies all three days.
Registration is now open to CAL members and non-members. Registration for members ($100) and non-members ($150) can be found at the CAL website on the registration page. Non-members who apply for membership in CAL and are approved will receive a $50 refund and all CAL benefits through May, 2015.
With the success of last year’s sale, CAL will not charge authors a commission this year. CAL volunteers will handle all transactions, including collecting tax, leaving authors free to meet and sign their books for shoppers. CAL increased the size of this year’s book booth and all authors have the opportunity to sign books on all three days. Holiday Mart attracts literally thousands of shoppers each year who swarm the aisles and aisles of crafts and merchandise. Last year there was only one other book booth besides CAL’s.
In addition, registration assures all authors of having their books displayed for shoppers throughout the 22 hours of Holiday Mart in the booth’s hands-on book rack, plus promotion signage.
