What do books and writers and wine and food all have in common? Last Sunday (December 7th) it was the Colorado Authors’ League annual Holiday Party at the BookBar in Denver, attended by about 40 members on a splendid, sunny afternoon. The overwhelming reaction to the new venue in what has long been a local authors’ must-go signing spot was very positive. CAL collected more than 60 books, mostly for children, donated by attending members and guests. The “book box,” designed by board member Margi Evans, overflowed. We ended up with three boxes that Margi and Mike Madigan will deliver to the Brandon Center for homeless women and children.
