Trina Lambert even risked frostbitten fingers for CAL. When she agreed to serve as treasurer she certainly didn’t find in the job description the part about conducting inventory of authors’ books in CAL’s book booth at last November’s Holiday Mart. But there she was, the Nebraska girl mitten-less and shivering, alongside other volunteers who helped close the event.
Trina is one of those unusually gifted folks who has mastered both the magic of writing and the mystery of reading a spreadsheet. “It is possible to be good with both words and numbers,” she says. “Grammar is nothing more than a formula such as those you can read in a financial statement.” She is another example of a CAL member who stepped forward — her second time on the board — to use her skills to help CAL.
Each month she helps interpret budget reports for the CAL board. Trina’s “day jobs” include writing a blog, editing, proofreading, preparing financial reports for commercial property, and even occasionally pushing a snow blower.
