Announcing Denver Woman’s Press Club Fall Seminar, Saturday, October 10, 9am-12pm. In this interactive workshop, you’ll gain valuable insight on this most monumental of choices through professional writers’ reflections on their most treasured ideas…and how they launched them or buried them. The phrase “kill your darlings” has been attributed to at least half a dozen literary giants. It reminds writers to be wary of self-indulgence for the greater good of our work. However, we’re often exhorted to write what we know, write from the heart, and draw on our individual emotional landscapes. Where’s the happy medium? In this workshop, you’ll hear how seasoned writers navigated this process and made tough decisions on whether to nurture or nuke the ideas closest to their hearts. A moderator for each section will lead the group members in discussing how (or if) the anecdotes strike chords in their own creative processes. Moderated by Linda Berry, Faith Gregor, and CAL Member Page Lambert. More info: http://dwpconline.org/.
