Nan Phifer was recently interviewed by the Institute of Noetic Sciences about writing in our elder years and her book Memoirs of the Soul. You can listen to the full interview on the website here. Nan was also interviewed by the “Excellence Reporter”, and in March will lead a writing workshop in Washington, D.C. for the conference of the American Society on Aging: Joys and Sorrows Reconciled: A Lively Life-Review Workshop: Contentment in aging involves acceptance of both grief and gladness. To observe how our own suffering and wellbeing are connected, we’ll first identify the times when, in our individual lives, we were miserable and the times when we felt joy. Next we’ll graph the ways our emotional experiences are interwoven; our graph lines will reveal how the threads of our lives intertwine. We’ll see relationships that help us ascent to sorrows, as well as gratitude, components in lives that are whole. Get the full conference schedule here.
