An enthusiastic crowed of 65-70 book-lovers and CAL authors attended the first CAL Book Beat at The Denver Press Club Friday night, March 11. The program featured Chuck Greaves (Tom & Lucky and George & Cokey Flo), who traveled from Cortez, west of Durango, to participate; Maggie Pike (Just Listen for the THUD); Stan Moore (Mister Moffat’s Road); and CAL Board member Margi Evans (In the Heart of a Mustang). They shared background about their books, discussed the content, and engaged in a conversation with moderator Denny Dressman. After the program, the authors mingled with the audience, answering their questions and signing copies. Sales of all four books were brisk.Book-Beat1-Crowd“It was fun!” said George Walker, a member of the audience. “It felt like a ‘fireside chat.’ The authors were very entertaining and knowledgeable, and the audience was engaged and interested.” The program was recorded by Channel 8 and can be seen on Denver’s public access cable channel by clicking here.
