Women Writers Quarterly presents “One Time, One Place”

Posted on March 23, 2016 | in Events, Member News | by

one time one placeYou are invited to attend the first in a quarterly series of programs celebrating the lives of extraordinary women whose contributions begin, but do not end with their writing. The first program pays tribute to Eudora Welty, photographer, whose short stories and novel, The Optimist’s Daughter, are better known than her invaluable photographs. “One Time, One Place” is hosted by writer-photographer Thordis Niela Simonsen, whose first book, You May Plow Here: the Narrative of Sara Brooks, and her companion photographs relate to Welty’s work in time and in place. Scheduled to coincide with each writer’s birthday, the programs in this series include slides and/or film as well as readings and conversation. Books by and about the writers will be available for purchase. Please join the festivities:
