A One-Day Luncheon Seminar with Page Lambert
During this seminar, we’ll discuss the changing landscape of publishing and the various paths available to an author. We’ll touch on the topics of agents, big houses, little presses, and literary competitions. We’ll discuss the differences between, and the need for, substantive editing, line-editing, copy-editing, and project consultation. We’ll study the basics of a good query letter. We’ll talk about the importance of the synopsis for fiction projects, and the proposal for nonfiction projects. We’ll discuss author platforms, website, blogs, and bios. This will not be an intensive workshop on a single topic, but rather an overview of the stepping stones you might encounter on the path to publication. Bring your questions!
