Speaking Engagements with Virginia White

Posted on April 30, 2017 | in Member News | by
Virginia White has been invited to speak at the Young Writer’s Conference on May 2 to be held at Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, CO. The Young Writers Conference is held for kindergarten through sixth grade students.  The goal is to get elementary students excited about writing.  Young writers from across Jefferson Country share their writing with peers.  They also have the opportunity to listen to an author, a Jeffco Library Reading Representative, and participate in the book fair.

Virginia has been invited to speak at a Parent Workshop where parents of participating students are invited to come and listen to advice from a writer regarding various ways to get young writers to continue with their love of writing, where to get ideas, and ways to assist their young writers.  Virginia’s topic is Pause to Read, Write, and Draw.  She will use a PowerPoint to present various way to get budding writers to utilize reading, writing, and drawing to generate writing in journals, short stories, and poetry.  Sample exercises will also be provided. The event will be held from 6:30 pm-8:15 pm.
