Posted on July 15, 2017 | in Events, Member News | by

Tattered Cover Book Store’s August 13, 2:00 p.m. Author Event features V.L. (Ginny) Purvis-Smith and a discussion of her historical novel, Greenwood Riven. Check out the website www.greenwoodriven.com, and you’ll be ready to pepper her with questions and insights into Colorado’s role in the World War II incarceration of 120,000 men, women, and children based solely on their race as persons of Japanese ancestry, two-thirds of whom were American citizens. Camp Amache, located in Southeastern Colorado, was one of the incarceration sites and became the tenth largest city in the state in the space of several months.
