Lou Dean will be speaking at the Rifle Library at 6:00 p.m. on April 6th about her eight books. She will be teaching a two-hour workshop for aspiring teen writers at Rifle Middle School April 7th. Local book clubs are reading On My Ass/Riding the Midlife Crisis Trail and the kids are reading CAL Award Winning novel, Reaching for the Reins, before Lou’s visit.
Volume 4 of Daniel Willis’ 10-volume genealogical series, The Descendants of Charles II, is set for an April 11th release. King Charles II of England and Scotland could well have been called the Father of his Country. Although he had no children by his Queen, he recognized 15 illegitimate children by seven different women. This series seeks to trace out the thousands of descendants of those 15 children. Along the way, brief biographical information will be presented of those families featured in each volume.
